I’ve been a patient of Dr. Ami Desai for over 7 years, and I can’t recommend her enough. She’s incredibly gentle, thorough, and always takes the time to explain everything clearly. Her calm and kind demeanor makes even the most nervous visits easy and stress-free. The office is always clean and welcoming, and her staff is just as professional and friendly. She is very good doctor. What I liked the most is she is attentive and thorough, she is gentle not-judgmental and gives a clear picture on your dental health and action needed.
We went to Dr. Ami as an emergency and he staff was able to squeeze us in even though it was our first time. Kid (5th grader) had a major swollen face and was complaining of tooth pain. Sanjay (front desk) gave us an appointment for check up within the hour of the call. Dr. Ami's assistant was super nice to the kid (super nervous) as she took the X-rays and eased the kid's fears. Dr. Ami was also super nice as she did the examination and identified a severe tooth infection. She then prescribed antibiotics and referred us to a Pediatric Dentist for tooth extraction ASAP. After we left, Sanjay also followed up to remind us to make the appointment ASAP with the Pediatric Dentist. Really appreciate Dr. Ami and her staff taking good care of us on such a short notice. We will be using Dr. Ami as our dentist going forward.
Excellent care—the treatment was thorough and gentle. Highly professional and made the whole experience very comfortable.
Dr. Desai is very methodical and explains procedures and answers questions with a lot of patience and clarity. She makes sure to give maximum results with least pain. She pays attention to details with respect to cleanliness and hygiene. Sanjay is very good with figuring out insurance and other administrative information as well as sending timely reminders for appointments. Overall, we as a family are very happy and like to continue with Dr. Desai as our dentist for as long as possible.
Today 3/27/25 Dr. Ami Desai along with her staff went above and beyond the call of duty. I went for my regular teeth cleaning and she was also, able to squeeze me in her busy schedule to remove the attachments from my teeth (invisalign procedure). I have always admired Ami Desai's patience as she is thorough in guiding me along with the procedure. I am facinated with her knowledge because she does it all. She's a sculptor, artist and a hygienist. I am happy with her services and my overall dental health due to her guidance. I definitely recommend her to be anyone's Dentist.

I had an issue with one of my teeth on a holiday. Dr Desai and Sanjay coordinated a time slot for me the very next day and took care of me without waiting for any insurance confirmation. Really nice experience for a patient.
Dr Desai and her staffs are nice, professional and thoughtful. When Sanjey scheduled an appointment for me with Dr. Desai, I asked for the possibility to accommodate with another appointment nearby, he did that, thank you for the flexibility. Dr. Desai patiently explained the treatment plan of my old crown failure and address my questions and concerns. All these eased me and made me feel comfortable and confident about the treatment.
I've been going to Dr. Desai office for at least 5 years and I can time and time again say I am happy with the care provided by Dr. Desai and her team. I've referred her to my mom and recommend her to my friends and family. Since moving to Sacramento I find myself driving almost 100 miles to her office for my dental needs. It is very hard to find a doctor I can trust and who is as caring, gentle, and compassionate as Dr. Desai.

I highly recommend my DENTIST, Dr. Ami Desai, who has been my dentist for over 20 years. She and her staff stay current on the latest practices. Dr. Desai discusses all treatments and concerns in detail, answers all questions and at 84 years of age, my teeth are my own and in excellent condition. Her staff has been with her for years. The office is right off 680 in Milpitas with convient parking. Five stars from me.

I felt like they really listened to my concerns and we approached my dental work in a very straightforward way. I’ve been trying to find a dentist for 5 months since my other dentist retired after being with him for 25 years. My endodontist recommended Dr. Ami Desai. My periodontist also backed that up as well. What better way to find a dentist is through my other doctors who I trust. I first visited Dr. Ami Desai’s office in April 2024. I met Sanjay who manages the front desk and does all the coordination with appointments and insurance. He is very cordial, respectful, and communicates very well. Sanjay really gives a great first impression of the office with his professionalism and caring personality. Dr. Ami Desai is very caring, kind, and very knowledgeable of dentistry and orthodontics. She has excellent bedside manners. On my first visit, she gave me an overall evaluation of my teeth and gums. Dr. Desai explained everything to me and answered all my questions very patiently. We discussed a treatment plan that would fit my schedule and budget. She prioritized the work based on importance to my health and my comfort. In the first month, Dr. Desai and her team took X-rays, pictures, and created molds for a stay plate, filled a cavity and installed a new crown. I felt so safe and comfortable. Dr. Desai is an artist at what she does. She gives me tips on breathing during a procedure that makes it easier on me and I believe it helps her team too. She ensures that I fully understand the "after care" before I leave the office and so does Sanjay and the staff. Dr. Desai’s staff is very friendly, professional, and are always on top of their game to ensure my visits are complete and thorough. They assist and are always in sync with the doctor and work effectively. The lobby, exam areas, office, and bathroom are all very clean. I trust, highly recommend, and am very thankful for Dr. Ami Desai and the staff.

Got a new temporary crown and did not hurt at all. Amy explained what she was doing & checking in to see how I was doing during the procedure. Everything went well even though I was anxious at the beginning of the procedure. Very happy she was gentile and patient with my asking questions.

Dr. Desi is a very professional dentist. She is very thorough and explains step by step what she is going to do to you. She has a very light touch when giving shots. She will help you prioritize your dental needs due to your needs, and she knows dental insurances. do not pay out much for your yearly dental needs. Dr. Desai is very professional, kind and has the most amazing bedside manner. She was constantly reassuring, explained every single detail so clearly and never pushed for any work. She advised exactly what needed to be done quickly and what could potentially wait and be done in future visits. My mom did need a tooth extracted and she said it went painlessly. By the time we were back home (20 minute drive) from the doctor's office, all the bleeding had completely stopped and all the discomfort was gone as well. The front office staff (Sanjay) are awesome and extremely helpful as well. Sanjay worked with insurance and got the billing worked out perfectly. I appreciate this level of professionalism and service very much. Communication was excellent, making every visit a breeze. Nice, clean offices and exam room. Very friendly, courteous and efficient dental staff to assist Dr. Desai. Overall, I'm very impressed and thankful to the doctor. I cannot recommend her highly enough! Thank you!!

Dr. Desai has been our family dentist for over 27 years now. My children start seeing her since they were 2 – 3 years old and still seeing her now that they are adults. My niece’s family, even after migrating to Kansas City, still travels back to see her for years. Needless to say, Dr. Desai’s gentle yet skilled hands and her dedication to the patients’ dental health solidify the longevity of the Dentist – Patients relationship. I went to Dr Desai for my check up and cleaning. Called the office to make an appointment. Mr Sanjay was very kind and gave me an appointment on my preferred day and time frame. They sent me a couple gentle reminders prior to my appointment. When I arrived, they did my Covid screening and soon took me in. The assistant took necessary x rays. Then Dr Desai did a very thorough check up and took her time to explain all the work that I needed. She also took photo pictures to explain me the details. Then she did a very thorough cleaning for my teeth. After I was done, Mr Sanjay scheduled my next appointment for the fillings. I felt really good at the end of my visit. Office was really clean and soothing as well. Cannot wait to go back to finish up my treatment!
I was recommended this place from a co-worker, I am so thankful to her as well as the team at Ami Desai, DDS dentistry! I was in server pain due to broken teeth, Ami was able to see me right away. Sanjay the front desk, is on top of everything, very punctual and lets you know if they have openings to see you sooner. They are gentle and let you know what your options are without trying to force you into anything, like I've experienced many times at many different establishments. I have been seeing Dr. Desai for well over 10 years so this review is long overdue! Having had many terrible (and expensive) experiences with other dentists, I can confidently say that Dr. Desai is as knowledgeable and professional as they come! She has fixed all the problems caused by my previous dentists. When something needs to be done, she shows me the problem (either with a mirror or the digital image taken). Then she clearly and calmly discusses possible solutions and patiently addresses my many, many questions. That said, she's also prudent, spotting potential problems, and tweaking parts of my dental hygiene routine as necessary. (Everyone do yourselves a favor and buy a tongue scraper to reduce that plaque!) During dental procedures (and I've had many!), Dr. Desai is always gentle and consistently checks in to see how I'm doing. In addition, she has extremely high standards for her staff as well as the vendors. If a cap or a crown doesn't fit just right, she sends it back to be redone. On one occasion, when i returned to get a cap fitted for the second time, it fit perfectly and Dr. Desai literally started jumping for joy!! That's the kind of dentist you want! Lastly, I can't forget to mention Sanjay. His knowledge of the insurance process and attention to detail is impeccable. Prior to my appointments, I always get a friendly text reminder as well a heads up about how much the payment will be. Thanks to Dr. Desai and her staff, I no longer dread going to the dentist and you shouldn't either.

I called about a tooth ache, and Ami Desai Dental Office was able to see that same day. DDS Desai took pictures and x-ray. From the pictures and x-ray, she pointed out to me the tell-tale signs that I'm a teeth grinder. She explained how that might have caused my tooth ache. She was very professional and courteous. She gave me suggestions of what were the next steps. We also discuss about the my teeth grinding and how we should address that considering that I have had issue addressing it before. I like how she explains things and my options.

During my visit on Monday, August 19, 2019, for fillings and impression, they were very concern with my well being and made sure that I was comfortable, due to the fact that I'm a chronic migraine sufferer. They always go above and beyond the call of Duty.
My daughter injured her face and mouth on a skateboard yesterday and I was very relieved that Dr. Desai's office was able to see us on such short notice today. They worked around our schedule, too. I appreciated how careful Dr. Desai was with my daughter because she was very tender from the fall. My daughter is never afraid to go see Dr. Desai even though visiting doctors is not a preferred activity for her.

I received a new night guard yesterday and it was very comfortable when I tried it on at the office. I wore it overnight and found that it addressed the clenching issue that I have.
My kids had their semi-annual check ups yesterday with Dr. Desai. Dr. Desai and her dental assistants are excellent with the kids, managing to complete X-rays, exams and cleanings for both kids (age 5 and 7) in a fun, efficient, and painless way.
Went there for a broken crown emergency. I was visiting US for an office assignment and my crown gave away at an extremely uncomfortable time. I was very apprehensive about dental treatment costs in US as they are not covered in insurance. Dr Ami was kind and treated me well. The time taken to begin the treatment is pretty high with the unnecessary questionnaire (almost 100-150 check boxes!!) at the beginning, which I believe is a practice everywhere in us. Cost is reasonable at 200$ and didn't give me a heart attack. An x-ray was also taken which was complimentary. The temporary crown fixed by the doctor has served well and is still staying strong. Overall Dr Ami was kind and able to understand the problem and fix it. After coming back to India I had requested for receipt and x-ray and Sanjay had promptly sent them via email. Overall a pleasant experience and would go there again when in emergency.

Dr. Desai has been our family dentist for over 14 years. My kids, now 13 and 16 have never known another dentist. She is also their Orthodontist. Being a parent herself, she is exceptional in her ability to work with children. I have found that Dr. Desai is focused on preventative dentistry rather than in advocating for costly dental procedures. Furthermore, her willingness to accommodate our family's challenging schedules and her availability for emergency visits especially with the orthodontics (broken wires, brackets etc) is much appreciated. They are also very accommodating and flexible as well. Amy stays on top of the dental technology and is very detailed in her explanation. Dr. Desai has been my dentist for as long as I can remember so this review is loooong overdue!! I've always known that she is an amazing dentist, but it hasn't been until recently that I realized just how amazing she is!!! I've lived most of my life without any major dental issues...until I got pregnant a couple of years ago and started grinding my teeth at night (like, really bad!). As a result of the grinding, I chipped/cracked a couple of molars and I eventually had to get two permanent crowns. I was so scared/anxious because I've never had anything more than a routine cleaning, but Dr. Desai is so kind, patient and gentle...and as much as I was dreading it, I trust her 100% and I knew she would take good care of me! One of the things that I appreciate the most about her is that she is extremely honest and she constantly talks to me during whatever procedure she is doing at the time...she tells me what she is doing as she is doing it, how bad (or good) things are looking, and how much time is left...she is really good at talking me through everything which really puts me at ease. If you are looking for a dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Desai! I am so grateful for her and I know you will be too!

I had an old crown with filling removed and was set up for a new crown. That was on #21. Excellent use of anesthesia. Excellent checking how my sensitivity was doing. While looking at the teeth and the Xrays, they noticed that #23 had a bad old filling that was cracking, so they offered to replace that on the spot since the lower right side was already anesthetized. A "two-fer"!

Two weeks ago, Dr. Desai did a deep cleaning on half of my mouth. The original plan was to do the other half today, but she decided she should remove the old fillings on two adjacent teeth and set them up for individual caps. The anesthetic the first time took no more than 4 minutes to take effect and I felt only the slightest occasional discomfort. The anesthetic today was more extensive and we let that work for more like 10 minutes and she went to work. Frankly, there was so little discomfort that I almost dozed off a couple of times. She repeatedly asked if I was OK, and I repeatedly told her I was fine. She explained that, although the temporary crown that went on today is a single unit, the final job will provide two crowns so that I can floss between them.

I had to have an old filling replaced today and Dr. Desai did an awesome job. I didn't have any pain, and my bite feels natural now that I am no longer numb.
Today I had a routine check up with cleaning, x-rays, and exam. The technician took my x-rays quickly, which I appreciate. Dr. Desai let me know that one of my older fillings needed to be replaced as it was starting to separate from the tooth. Otherwise I had a good check up - phew! I appreciate that Dr. Desai is always gentle with exam, cleaning, flossing, etc. Sitting in a dental chair can make anyone want to jump out of their skin, and it is much easier with an excellent dentist like Dr. Desai!

Dr. Desai and her team did a nice job with my hesitant four year old daughter. My child has some defensiveness about having anyone touching inside her mouth (including me and her dad), but the team strived to make sure that her dental needs were met. The dental assistants went out of the way to be bright and cheery with my daughter, and that really helped her feel more at ease. They even managed to get decent xrays, which my daughter really struggled with during her last visit (having the equipment in her mouth and staying still enough were very hard for her last time). Dr. Desai and her team were very patient with her and she enjoyed visiting the treasure chest at the end of her check-up.

I have been a patient of this office for 29yrs and have received excellent service at every visit. Recently, due mostly to my age, my teeth began moving forward and the front teeth were being pushed together and cracking. Dr. Desai provided me with a plan of action and I decided to go ahead with it. after repairing my damaged teeth, I began the Invisalign program. Now at 60yrs old, my teeth are straight with normal gaps between the teeth. It is now very easy to floss my teeth and they look and feel great. I have received many compliments on my near perfect looking teeth, at my age, people cannot believe they are not dentures. Prior to this, Dr. Desai had repaired all of my teeth that had primitive type fillings installed in the 1960's & 70's, Throughout all the years, I felt absolutely no pain inflicted by Dr. Desai or any of her Dental Hygienists, that means a lot to me. I recommend Dr. Desai 100+%.

Dr. Desai has been my dentist for 20 years or so. Although there are other experienced family dentists closer to my home/business, throughout the years, I continue staying with Dr. Desai as all my visits to her office have been a great experience, from regular teeth cleaning and checkups to extensive dental care (fillings, crowns). She's an excellent dentist and her staff is also very nice and friendly.

I have been going to Dr. Desai for over 8 years now. She had help me a lot especially when there's emergency. I remember, a week before my wedding my gum was infected which made my cheek puffy. I called, Dr. Desai and she recommended me to a specialist's who can help me asap since she was out of town. Without Dr Desai helped I would probably had a bad wedding pictures or cancel my honeymoon trip. Dr. Desai mostly did my deep cleaning very well and always ask me if I'm doing OK. Her staff and her always give me a lot of information what s going on with my teeth and no pressure whatever my decisions. So far Dr. Desai is my best dentist I ever had since I tried other dentistry even though I leave far away from Milpitas. Over this period, I have gone to see Dr. Desai for root canals, crowns, fillings, teeth cleaning. Whatever procedure she did for me, it was always done with tremendous skills and great care. When Dr. Desai works on my teeth, she is always gentle and she periodically asks if I’m doing OK which helps me feel relaxed. Recently, I injured my teeth from a fall at work, I was very worried that instead of going to Dr. Desai for treatment, I would be required to seek dental care from a workers compensation dentist instead. It was with great relief that I learned that wasn’t the case. Today I’m still receiving treatment for my injured teeth. I’m grateful it’s from my personal dentist whom I know and trust.

I've known Dr. Desai for quite a long time. I was a patient of the previous dentist, and was naturally taken over by Dr. Desai. I am one that likes going to my dentist to get my teeth cleaned and to make sure that everything is in order, and Dr. Desai really keeps me in check. I even had a root canal done years back and contrary to popular belief, it was quite easy for me (I realize I am in the minority). She is very detail-oriented, and this is what you need from a dentist.

Let's face it that going to dentist is not same as going to the park. But if you have good, loving and caring dentist you may feel the pleasant visit. I have been going to Dr. Desai for over 10 years now. She is mine and my two kids (Age 10 and 5) dentist. My kids just love to go to her. They don't fear the word "dentist" because Dr. Desai is very friendly to them. She talks so soothingly while she is working on their teeth that my kids don't even come to know when they are done. Even though we don't live in Milpitas , we don't mind the drive to her office. My older kid has gone thru orthodontics treatment with Dr. Desai and trust me when I say this that all the whole year process went so smooth because of Dr. Desai's care. During our initial visits Dr. Desai knew my son had very little tolerance for discomfort and little pain so she always went out of her way to make sure his treatment goes smooth. My son had very small jaw and when his baby teeth fell, his permanent teeth were 3 times bigger than his baby teeth. So he only had very few teeth in his mouth. He did not have enough space in his mouth for other teeth to come in. Dr. Desai recommend mouth expander. I have to admit, when I looked at the expander, I knew my son would not be willing to have this in his mouth. Dr. Desai was so nice, she explained to my son why it was necessary to put it on and when she started the treatment , she told him step-by-step what she is going to do. Well, now year later, my son has his jaw expended. He now has room in his mouth for other teeth to come in. He eats better, he sleeps better, he doe sn't grind his teeth anymore and his teeth are all aligned nicely. I don't think, this whole process would have gone smoothly without Dr. Desai. My 5 year old also loves to go to Dr. Desai. She loves the little goodie she gets from dentist office and also after her teeth cleaning she loves going to treasure chest to get the toy. :)I also had my Invisalign treatment done with Dr. Desai and everything went really smooth. I have now beautiful teeth and smile. Sanjay at front desk is super nice and always willing to work with me on my schedule. Dr. Desai's staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall there is no other dentist for us besides Dr. Desai.

My children cringe when she comes and calls themWe would give 5 stars if not for our experience with this particular hygienist. She is nice enough but her bedside manner is awkward and children don't get the warm fuzzier. Even for me, she is not as skilled as the others I have had. She sprayed water all over me not once but twice.

She asked me what I wanted to see in the end and I said no gap between my top front teeth and put the snaggle tooth on the bottom back in line. She said that's it? Dr. Desai then went on to tell me what she wanted...widen teeth to show more smile, even levels of teeth center front teeth...I was blessed with an artist who happens to be an amazing dentist! The process took awhile and was a bit more complicated due to the loss of my teeth while the implants were firming. She is up to date on techniques and equipment, empathetic, gentle, on time, great staff and wonderful person! Thank you Doc!!!

It has been more than 5 years all our family members visit to Dr. Desai office. In this last 5 years, we have done all the minor to major things which included minor cleaning, root canal and crown replacement.It has been outstanding service we’ve received and definitely I would recommend Dr. Desai.
Dr. Desai and her staff are amazing. Sanjay is organized, always has a smile and Dr. Desai is gentle, very kind and most professional. Do not wait for Dental care...She is worth seeing. She is honest and will tell you like it is. The 2nd set you get as an adult is in a cup...don't wait!!! I have been going to Ami Desai for almost 8 years. She is a great dentist, very helpful and very knowledgeable about teeth and oral hygiene. Great! I was very happy. I had filling of my cavity. I did not feel any pain during the procedure and even after the procedure. I was slightly late for my appointment, was embarassed. She accomodated me in her busy schedule, and with a smile on her face.

Dr. Desai is a wonderful dentist, if you have really sensitive teeth like I do and have had problems with the way other dentist being too rough in cleaning your teeth then Dr. Desai will definitely be the dentist for you. My family has be going to Dr. Desai for many years now and she really cares about us, she always asks how we are all doing and to please say hi to them. Last year I started INVISALIGN and at first I was not going to do it. I have had braces twice before and it was just terrible they always hurt and I still have flashes from the pain. But once I started Invisalign it was such a difference the pain or pressure would only last a maximum of 5 days where as the braces never stopped hurting. Most of the time though it would be fine after just three days. And unlike braces where you would have had to remember to brush your teeth, with Invisalign you have to brush and floss after every meal witch helped my gums and even made my teeth less sensitive to cleanings. Plus the add bonus of being able to just take them off made it so much more bearable. So if you are thinking about getting braces or you need to get them really consider going with Invisalign, it was a much better option for me.

Had 2 filling removed because of cracks. My experience was outstanding. No pain when she injected me with numbing medicine, and no pain while filling was being done. I love this office! They have always been very professional and Dr. Desai does excellent work. She has fixed mistakes my previous dentists have done on my teeth and since then i haven't had any problems. This office is at a good location, there is always parking and it is as clean as it gets.It is obvious they are very organized and the staff is always upbeat and in a good mood. When I go, the hygenist helping me informs me of my problem areas and makes excellent suggestions on how I can improve my oral health. As usual, I was treated with much kindness and concern for my sensitive teeth. Dr. Desai as always is very patient and gentle. She certainly has the touch to make you feel as comfortable as possible. She also entertains all your questions/concerns and answers them to ensure you understand your condition. Her follow up is excellent and she truly cares for her patients.
Dr. Desai perfectly matched the color of my new crown to my newly whitened teeth. We actually went one shade whiter on my crown so I can continue my home whitening treatments and get to the color I want with the rest of my teeth.I'm 110% happy with the looks of the new crown, and it looks way better than the original tooth and perfectly natural as well. I feel very lucky to have such a terrific Dentist who also does great cosmetic work.

As always, my experience at Dr. Desai's office was terrific. She and her assistant, Gloria, did a perfect job, and matched the color of the temporary crown to my other teeth.Two weeks ago I starting using the Doctor's teeth whitening process and now my teeth are at least 3 shades whiter; great product!Sanjay, at the front desk, is always great to work with. He really knows the insurance system and has saved me a lot of money over the years.

Hello, I don't like to say this since I have been going to Dr. Desai for a long time now and I always satisfied until my last visit. I felt that my hygienist didn't do a good job cleaning my teeth. She did used the waterpick and the cleaning like the toothpaste taste but didn't used it to all my teeth ( just the front teeth only). I know my gums are bad and my teeth that's why I come to the dentist to help me out a little. I felt like since my gums are so bad that she didn't bother to really clean my teeth good. While we are waiting for Dr. Desai about half an hour to check me out, all she basically just touch my gum then bleed and spray with the water. I am not sure if this is how it supposed to be the cleaning way at that time bec...

Ami has been my dentist for over a year, and has shown a lot of attention and care to my specific issues. The quality of care is excellent, and every time I have worked with their dental hygienists they have been thorough and very gentle. Ami is very good about offering affordable alternatives and working within your insurance restrictions to get you the best possible care.I personally do not have an issue with them offering other services (upselling.) It is smart to do that if you are in business, and it helps make sure their clients know about all of the services available to them. If I am not interested, I am comfortable in saying "no thank you", and they are very courteous in receiving that answer.Their high quality of care is why I use them.
